In-person Meetings Include "Hybrid" Jitsi Option when a Volunteer In-Person Tech Person is Willing and Able
Proposal: NOVASEN members include a hybrid option at all in-person meetings to support the NOVASEN values and mission for inclusivity and accessibility. To be more specific: I propose that one or more core members of NOVASEN volunteer when possible to host a Jitsi call during in-person NOVASEN meetings so that members who live far away, are sick, or for other reasons would like to attend virtually instead are able to partially participate by proxy. This would mean someone bring a laptop to the meeting place, e.g., Clarendon Presbyterian Church, and login with their NOVASEN credentials (contact me if you do not know yours yet) to meet.mayfirst.org/NOVASEN, and that when sociocratic processes go on in in-person meetings, the "tech volunteer" keep track of the questions, reactions, and/or votes for consent or objections, from the Jitsi chat. Remote attendees can then hear and speak too.
